Brainiversity – Giveaway

brainiversity

***And the winners are Shaye and CBS! Congrats.***

I often feel that my brain is going to mush. I’ve tried reading Tolstoy, playing Sudoku, taking extended adult naps, brushing my teeth with my non-dominant hand and many other remedies for getting my brain in shape and improving my memory.

None of these were as much fun as playing Brainiversity, a new brain fitness game from Brighter Minds Media. Full of fun little brain stimulating activities, it gets you thinking on your feet and then tracks your progress as you complete daily quizzes.

I was excited about my progress as I continued to improve my scores from day to day. The excitement wore off JUST a titch when Laylee got on my computer to play by clicking on things randomly since she can’t read or do math and earned basically the same score as I had worked my way up to.

I’ll just chalk it up to the fact that she’s likely a child of unparalleled and even freakish genius, not that I am a moron who’s brain is in a state of rapid decay. Hopefully even if the latter is true, I’ll be able to reverse the effects by keeping up my daily brain-ercises.

If you’d like to keep your brain agile enough to help your kids with their homework, leave a comment on this post and I’ll enter you to win one of two copies of the PC-compatible version of the game. I’ll draw a winner on Wednesday at 10pm PST.

  2. jsprik says:

ooooh… ooohhh …pick me… pick me!! lol i have got the worst brain mush the last year. i attribute it to having had a radical hysterectomy sept 2007. i have heard that when you go through menopause, your brain kinda goes on the fritz??? andi didn’t have the luxury (if you caould call it that lol) of going through it slowly, it as kinda all of the sudden. so anyway…..pick me…..pick me! 😉

  3. jsprik says:

see….i can’t even type lol… i really need help!! (read my last comment)

  4. I have four kids. With each birth, I pushed out a bit of my brain along with the baby. They say you can’t get your pre-baby body back, but maybe I could get the brain?

  5. Shelly! says:

I hope you pick me! I can attest to the reality of Mommy Brain – and would love to be able to finish my sentances! Maybe this game would help me…maybe there is hope for us all!

  6. Kris says:

I don’t have kids, but my brain has decided to go to sleep… At this rate, if I do have kids, I’m not sure if I could remember to drive them to kindergarten!

  7. Amanda says:

Yeah, I don’t know how that brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand is supposed to work…cause it sure doesn’t work for me. But a fun game might!!

  8. Melissa says:

I think my brain still works, it just forgot to turn on. Or maybe it’s on vacation somewhere distant and possibly foreign. But I know that at one time I was actually smart…ish. Ok, smart enough, and now………….

So if I win, I’ll gladly use the program to maybe FINALLY start using my brain again by either turning it back on, finding it, or I don’t know, a full scale brain transplant? Is that part of the game?

p.s. I’m totally brushing my teeth with my non-dominant hand tonight. I wonder if that has any effect on waht kind of dreams I’ll be having…

  9. I am old. I need this. Pick me o’ random number integer.

  10. Aurelia says:

wait, so what about us mac people? 🙂

  11. Ali-kat says:

I suffer from the butt brain. It moves in like a fog and keeps me from remembering basic things like, wiping your mouth with a table cloth was never an acceptable way to do it.

I have a Mac…but I have lots of PC-using mom friends! Pick me so I can give it to a friend, and then spend a few hours lounging/improving my brain power at her house!!

  17. a.men says:

I feel the brain mush at times as well. Especially on days when I only speak to people who are 6 and under. My husband walks in and I almost attack him to have an adult conversation with me! Only by the time he gets home he is tired of adult conversation and only wants to talk to the kids… It is a vicious cycle!

  18. JustRandi says:

    That looks fun!
    Thanks for the chance!!

  19. kris says:

Hm, never heard of it, but it looks fun, maybe even a good christmas gift for someone…

If I went into detail about my current job, you’d think I was a junior high school cheerleading locker room attendant. I need a little more brain power in my life!

I view it as a huge accomplishment that I remembered what I was doing between the time I pushed on the “leave comment” button and the time I started typing. Seriously, I’m that forgetful these days. Pick me, pick me!

  31. grammyelin says:

Hi. I am old. Old people need all the help they can get. When was it exactly that I began forgetting the names of everyday things, lik forks? I like to call it overload, which implies that I have a million things going on at once. That sounds so much better than senility.

Schweet! My brain is probably as mommy mushy as most of everyone else’s here, but mostly this just sounds fun. Like the brain academy game for the DS…only I don’t have the DS or the brain game, so this game would be great!

  35. Crystal says:

I’ve been reflecting lately on the fact that my brain seems to have leaked out my nose the past few weeks. Nasty, huh? You just better hope germs don’t travel through the Web.

  36. Liz says:

One child and there are days where I’ve felt I’ve lost it… losing keys, losing child, losing sanity, it’s amazing what happens to your brain as you age and I’m only 26!
