1. Buy a new belt.
2. Join Weight Watchers.
3. Buy the most expensive theater tickets you’ve ever purchased in your life for a show that’s coming to town in nine months.
Do all these things and you’ll have a positive pregnancy test in less than 2 weeks. I guarantee it.
How exciting! Congratulations, DYM!
I just had this conversation with my boyfriend when I walked into the room and I was sitting at the computer smiling widely:
Him: What’s up?
Me: One of my favorite bloggers is having another baby!
Him: Which one?
Me: Daring Young Mom.
Him: Oh, they’re adding a third?
He DOES listen when I babble about Internet People.
Oh my goodness! Congratulations friend! What joyous news!!!!!
Kathryn! So excited for you!
Do not read past this point Kathryn. Seriously. Look away!

*Note to all of Kathryn’s friends (real life + otherwise):
There are individuals who would attend a baby shower in Kathryn’s honor in a heartbeat (me) + I’m sure many many many others. Love that girl! Someone who can make it happen, make it happen + invite me!
Congratulations are in order –
And I totally KNEW that it had to be Wicked. What else can possibly deserve the words “most expensive show”?
Never seen it. Always wanted to.
(I’ll tell my husband not to come near me for a while ….)
Congrats!
Oh My!!!! I’m pregnant too. Due in August. I’m still sick. I take over the counter super cheap medicine if you need info let me know. Also feel free to call me WHENEVER if you have moments. We all have moments and while I feel slightly wierd writing about it in a comment you have discussed it at length with the general population so I guess I won’t be worried. But seriously call me anytime. Maybe I’ll call you today. Congratulations. Babies are fun. We can both lament on how 3 children will be compared to 2. (are you freaking out yet cause I sort of am). There was my pregnant rambling.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Oh, congratulations and hooray!! That’s wonderful. We’re so happy for you.
BTW, giving baby clothes away also works. That’s why I’m holding on to ALL of mine as a talisman against further fertility 🙂
The emptying the attic of as much baby stuff as possible is what did the trick for us. I finally gave away all the Playtex Drop-In bottles and our car seats when the fertility fairy finally found our house.
Congratulations!!
Yea for babies! Boo for the sickness of death. Boooooo.
Is it bad to admit that one reason I’m super pumped about adopting is that I don’t have to go through that terrible terrible unnecessary nausea?
Pregnant with my third, too! My youngest is currently 10 months old. 15 months apart. I’m a wee bit scared.
My trick? Assume that round the clock nursing with be as effective as it was after the first one.
And then, lose weight, sign up for a soccer league, and plan a vacation in the month you’re due.
In the spring of 2010 I will have #1 graduating high school, #2 graduating eighth grade, and #3 graduating kindergarten. You know, I meant to do that.
Congratulatios to all of you!
Woohoo!!!
WAAHOO!!! Congrats!!!
Congratulations!!! I bet Laylee is beside herself with excitement. Best wishes for a quick return to a happy tummy.
Congratulations! I pray for a healthy baby and a healthy (and easy!) pregnancy and delivery for you!
Congratulations …
Wait…I’m slow on the uptake. Does this mean… 🙂
That is fantastic – congratulations!
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!! I’m so happy for you all. We’re due in November, so I’m about 5 minutes pregnant. All I gotta say is … Valentine’s Day 🙂
YAY! Congrats! Now, I’m off to join WW, buy a belt and purchase costly tickets.
AHHHH—congratulations- how exciting!!! I’m waiting for God to bless me, too, maybe we’ll be pregnant together! 🙂
I joined TOPS (like Weight Watchers) about 6 weeks before my son was conceived. 🙂
Congrats. If you don’t mind I won’t be taking the steps you outlined. We kind of have our hands full right now. (3 kids ages 4 and under.) Someday I’ll tell you all about my first shopping trip with all 3 in tow. That was a memorable day.
Hooray! Congratulations!
I’m so happy for you! When you were blogging about being sick, I suspected (and hoped, for you) that you were PG. Hope you get feeling better soon and have an easier pregnancy, and, especially, birth and post-partum experience than in the past!
Hmm. The husband and I have a once-in-a-lifetime monthlong trip back to his homeland (Germany) scheduled for June…
Two years of trying didn’t work for us, but the trip sounds like it might be just the thing to get the fertility gods looking in this direction… “Oh, you’re headed to the land of beer and sausage?? How about you head there with a fetus in tow! You think smells nauseate you now- just wait ’til that plate of sauerkraut is in front of you!”
Oh, dear… definitely not gonna buy any belts any time soon!
Kate,
This method worked for me. Except my husband’s not from Germany–he just lived there for several years. It was the salami for breakfast that did it for me.
Huzzah and congratulations on the effectiveness of your Plan to Populate Seattle With Small, Attractive People! I’d totally sign up to bring you all the traditional casserole after Munchkin #3 makes his or her appearance but I don’t think I could keep it warm all the way from Toronto.
Congratulations and felicitations from Baja Washington! Good luck to you on the sickness front both now & post-partum.
I keep telling myself that the time isn’t right, but I want #3 so badly. You keep blogging and I’ll live it vicariously for now. 🙂
I can’t tell you how happy I am for you!!!!! I hope it all goes well and that the insanity of the last won’t happen again. Awesome Awesome!
Love,
Ortensia
I can’t remember if I congratulated you before. (chalk it up to old age, I turn 37 in 5 minutes!!)
So, congratulations!!!!
Congratulations! That’s wonderful news!
For us the trick was getting my almost-5 year old two kittens for Christmas because in almost two years’ trying he still didn’t have a little brother or sister. Then, in the 1st week of January…hello baby (or two lines, anyways). I’m due in September, too! The good news is, I’m not the one that has to change the litterbox now.
Congrats!!!!
Congratulations, Kathryn, I’m so happy for you and your family. How exciting that you’ll (hopefully) get to see Wicked…I’ve seen it twice and loved it! If you aren’t very familiar with the music I highly recommend getting the CD, it makes the show so much more enjoyable when you know the music and can sing along!!
Squeee!
Best of luck with the pregnancy!
I look forward to the day when I too can have all my plans thwarted by baby.
And all the blogging fans rejoiced, even though they felt a little embarrassed that they are so pleased for the success of an internet friend they haven’t actually met in person…is this stalkerish? I’ll stop. But congrats.
Congratulations!!!
And buying new clothes works too.
Oh my goodness I am over the moon for you guys! So exciting! Yah another baby in the daring house!
I was hoping hiring a PT would help.
Crap.
