President James E. Faust

I know that most of the readers of this site are not LDS but several of you are so I feel like I can express my feelings of love and sympathy to the family of President James E. Faust this morning. He’s a longtime member of the First Presidency of my church and he passed away early this morning. I will personally remember him for his gentle and kind nature and the sincerity of his teaching and testimony of Jesus Christ. I will miss him.

The best way to honor someone who gave of themselves is to remember what they taught you and pass that to others in the same spirit that it was passed to you.
I’ve always felt that when good people pass away, they accomplished or finished what they were here to do and it’s time to return home.

  7. I, too, was saddened to hear about President Faust. He seemed so warm and gentle. You could tell he had a genuine testimony of the Savior when he spoke at General Conference.

I, like Margaret, am grateful for the Gospel and the peace, knowledge, direction, and sense of purpose it brings to our lives.

  12. I, too, love President Faust. When I was in college I saw him give a big warm embrace to a young woman who must have been his granddaughter after a Relief Society Conference. Whenever I heard him speak, that image came to mind. And I could feel God’s love for me. He was truly a good, kind, loving man, and I’ll miss his talks in conference. Thanks for honoring him.
