…because I won’t let him look through the viewfinder of the camera WHILE I’m taking his picture.
…because he can’t find his FUDDY GUY! (Anything from a clown to an astronaut to the demonic bionical happy meal toy with the red glowing eyes is a “funny guy” according to Magoo.)
…because his spoon is the wrong color.
…because when he said “yes” he really meant “no” which of course meant “yes” except today because it didn’t and I dared to misunderstand his meaning.
…when I move him back to the crib after he escapes from his bunkbed. As he cries, he yells, “I WANT MY CHANCES!”
…because these feet aren’t really skid proof and the linoleum is less forgiving than he’d like.
…because everything fun is “dangerous.”
…because he’s two, the cookies are “hid” and life is pain.
It sure is tough being two.
He is too cute.
Oh, it’s so true. It could be ANYTHING that sets them off. “BUT I DON’T WANT THE SUN TO SET.”
Right.
Good luck with that.
We had an evening like this tonight, full of oops’s, ow’s and tears. It’s always so reassuring to me to see that it’s a 2 thing and he’s being typical and it’s not a T21 thing. Not that I wish tears for Magoo, but thanks for posting them.
Don’t forget the dropped wishies. It’s a cruel, cruel world.
Being 2 is so hard!
My 1-yr old son cries because I won’t let him look at the viewinder of the camera while taking HIS picture too. What a cruel, cruel world.
Oh my word, he looks so much like you.
Aw, that face.
And yes, we have the wailing twos here as well. Oh, the heartbreak.
DANG, that kid is cute (those tears just break my heart). And I lauhged aloud when I read “I WANT MY CHANCES!!!”
don’t we all just want OUR CHANCES? Cutie pie.
Those are great pictures! And a great summary of how hard life is for a 2-year-old…and a 2-year-old’s mommy! Good luck at the mind reading.
Oh the life of a mom with a toddler, Im so sorry.. I remember those days vivdly.you almost dare do or say anything in fear that it will set them off! those are great pictures though btw!
Hey, I’m 36 and that last one would make me cry too.
What a cute guy!
My 2 year old has experienced the same problems and cry-fests, as I like to call them. I haven’t been able to see them in such a cute, positive light yet. Hopefully soon! 🙂
oh bless his heart…have you told him how much more difficult life will get yet? lol.
……and yet, sadly, these days will pass too soon!
He’s a cutie though!
Oh, the logic of “kid-thought”….or illogic, or non-logic….they never fail to amuse me!
A sweet post, really….sometimes I cry too.
For different reasons of course, but you did hide the cookies!
Aw, its tough to be two. 🙂 This post made me smile – my oldest is nearing three now, but I remember this stage!!
I remember this period with my son very well, indeed. Everything needed to be green. I had to figure out that if you mix the orange and blue slushies together at Sonic, it makes a green one. So I would explain that to the people at Sonic every time we went.
Yeah its hard to be two, we have those same Jammies and they really are slippery.
What a sweet post! And perfectly written about two year olds and their feelings 🙂 Loved it.
I love this post! What a good idea, and the pictures are awesome. Why is everybody but me an amazing photographer?
Oh, poor dear! Still, I can’t help but assume that he laughs far more than he cries. I just have that sense.
Really great Pictures Kate. I love that little. dude.
sooo cute…love the pics you captured the emotions well!
