Today Blackbird is asking to see the street where we live. So here we go. This is one of my favorite shots of our street:
Then there’s this:
Video Hosting – Upload Video – Photo Sharing
This is technically across the street from my house, a little walking trail. Laylee calls it the Bambi forest because we’ve seen deer there. One of our friends lives on the other side of the Bambi forest, so this is the way we walk to play dates.
I never want to move from this location. Hopefully by the time we outgrow our condo, we will be able to pass a city ordinance, allowing us to demolish it and build a bigger house in its place… assuming the neighbors don’t mind.
“…assuming the neighbors don’t mind.”
Especially the upstairs ones…
How beautiful! It would be so fun to live next to something like that!
That’s a wonderful photo…
and you are so lucky (as you know) to have that walking trail across the street.
I just got home sick again. When I was a little girl, I spent hours with my friends playing in parks and around my block in places like that. Thanks for posting. Love it.
I’m glad it’s not the “Haunted Wood” of Anne of Green Gables!
Love your street. That is a fantastic walking trail!
How cool!
Thanks for the video. It’s amazing to me how much I get out of just watching that child walk. It’s like when she was a baby and you would send videos of her sitting in her high chair. I think it’s all wonderful!
I love your neighborhood because it’s beautiful, but mostly because you are in it!
— happy sigh —
Man makes me even more resentful of the desert that I have to call home…dirt anyone??? Washington is beautiful 🙂
Thank you for sharing reminds me beauty is still out there!
It’s nice all that rain supports such beauty. I love my desert, but it would sure be nice to have shade once in a while.
Beautiful photos. I want a walking trail across the road too!
Wow- all that greenery! It looks like heaven to me!
Baby Girl is wondering, Do you really live in Narnia? The lamp post, all the trees…could be…
I wouldn’t want to move ever either!
I love that you posted a night time photo-
and that trail…we must come hike someday!
Darn you, DYM – my sleep habits are destroyed because of your blog!! Every time I visit your site I say “OK, I’m only going to read TODAY’S POST. Then I’m going to sleep.” Yeah… it’s 3:00am now, and I think I’ve been reading from your archives for about 3 hours. I’ve already woken up my daughter once by laughing too loud. You’re just too stinkin’ funny. Thanks for the laughs.
Wow, that’s amazing! I live across the street from a huge park and I never go there! LOL
Beautiful!
Beautiful! Stunning! I, too, especially love the Bambi Park–seriously—you live in a fairy-tale neighborhood!
Good luck, however, with the neighbor thing! I don’t think they’re going to like that fairy tale ending!!!!!
🙂

That’s it! I’m moving to Seattle.
We have walking/biking trails just like that behind our house that go off into protected grasslands. We enjoy them so much. Unfortunately, we just got orders to leave this paradise and we’ll be trekking off to D.C. by the beginning of July. I’ll be so sad to leave. My four year old dubbed our woods, “The Pocahontas and John Smith Forest.” She is CONVINCED they are living amongst the trees somewhere and we are bound to stumble upon them during one of our walks.
What fun woods! I wouldn’t be able to leave them alone. I’d be sneaking daffodils in them to naturalize and sneaking ferns home to press. I’m sure Laylee love them!
Oh! The Northwest!
Thanks for starting my weekend off with pictures from the home I love and miss…
🙂
I love the trees!!! Why, oh why, would my dh want to go live in the brown hills of Califnoria (actual spelling from a Jimmy Buffet CD case).
BTW…I love that on my “bookmark” of your blog, it shows your cute cartoon head! Love that!!!
What a beautiful place to live! Luckee!
Looks like you live in a beautiful area. I’d love to have a nice walking path like that next to my house.
By the way, I awarded you on my blog today for “Helping Kristen Cook”. 🙂
Where do you live?
Jurassic Park?
lol
very pretty
Love this. Living in the city, I forget what trees look like….sigh
Absolutely LOVE that top photo.
Wow.
That really is so beautiful. I wish I lived where you live, too.
