I want them just like this. For always.

Administrative Stuff
Ditto.
Oh, I think that at EVERY age – you’re perfect now, please stay like this.
I think it goes on forever. I think they’re going to come into my house when I’m very old and they’re middle-aged people and I’ll be breathless with their wrinkly beauty and hope that they never change.
Okay, if you find this magical freezer could you please send one my way?
Sigh. Yeah. That about says it all.
Let me know if you find a way. I have 4 kids ages 4 months, 3 years, 5 years, and 14 years and my 14-year-old has curves that I just noticed and is losing all her baby fat and needs a real bra (not a training bra or sports bra). Please find a way for this to stop now! I always look back on pictures and think I did not take enough pictures of them at certain ages but I think what really scares me is that I can only capture something once and then it is gone. It truly is a joy though to see your children progress and grow and become capable young adults/adults.
I woke today at 4am with my four year olds hand resting on my cheek and broke into tears. This is my youngest and our last, I weep to know this small person feeling will have to leave my life. It burdens me with trying to drink in every moment before they are gone. How does one hold onto the feeling our sweet babies?
I know exactly what you mean. My girl’s only 3 but I already get foggy-eyed at the thought of kindergarten and before I know it, college. I just love their little-ness!
My mom used to say she was going to springle baby powder on me and keep me her baby forever. Now I really understand.
Boy do I hear ya…I was just telling my MIL how I didn’t want a clean house anytime soon…that would mean the babies were all grown and gone…
This picture makes my heart hurt in all the best ways.
Oh, the tears. Send that freezer my way, would you?
Oh, I couldn’t agree with you more. Where oh where does the time go?
I sigh, but for a different reason. Distance as well as time. But we take what we get, have good memories and cameras, and enjoy things as they unfold! It just keeps getting better-mostly. 🙂
Ah, cute!
Holy cow! The tapirs were AWAKE! I am so in awe of that.
And, of course those wee little babes watching them. I’ll let you know if I invent a machine that’ll freeze them.
I took a photo like this of my cousins at our local zoo. They were 3 and 4 years old at the time and the older one’s arm was draped around the younger one’s shoulders. Now they almost-20 and 21. It’s just bizarre.
You know what’s cool though? They still hang around each other. The feeling in that photo lasted, even though they’ve grown. So that’s something.
And, yeah, I’m crying about it cuz it’s just too darn cute.
I’ve had the same thought hundreds of times, so in honor of this I wrote a Haiku, inspired by eve
stop it
freeze
don’t you dare
grow up
