I’ve come to realize that there are 3 kinds of people in this world, those who wear and love Keens, those who covet Keens in a way that Moses would greatly disapprove of, and those who’ve never heard of them.
So for those of you in category 3, here’s a rundown of why I love Keen to encourage you to join categories 1 or 2. If you still need convincing after reading this, visit their new website and I’m sure you’ll be hooked.
1. They’re environmentally and socially responsible. Much of their products are made from reused or recycled material. They use environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, give back to the community, and are working through a Fair Labor certification process. There are so many companies who have jumped on this bandwagon half-heartedly but I get the impression that Keen really means to make a difference in the industry and the world. Their company was founded on these principles 5 years ago and they keep taking their commitment to the next level.
2. They’re based in the Northwest so we’re neighbors and likely soon to be BFFs.
3. Their design is smart and their shoes are well-made, rugged and durable.
4. Handbags. You just have to look. Trust me.
5. Everything they make is gorgeous.
Now you’re asking yourself, “Why is Kathryn giving me a big fat advertisement for Keen?” Firstly because I like em so darn much and secondly because they want to give one of you a Christmas present. An awesome Christmas present, a present of which I am totally jealous in a hypocritical I-enabled-this-so-why-am-I-freaking-out-with-envy sort of way.
Head over to the site and look through everything. May I suggest the Ridgelines, Betty Boots, Palermo Boots or Palermo MJs?
How about a pair of classic Newports or Wear Around MJs?
And let’s face it. If it were me, I’d spend a good long time checking out their laptop bags and handbags. I’ve particularly got my eye on the Oswego and the Betty bag. The day packs are also delicious but I’d feel like I’d end up sharing them with my family and honestly, who wants that?
So yes. Go to the site. Pick out something you can’t live without and come back here and tell me what it is in the comments section of this post. Next Sunday night I will choose one random winner to rule them all who will receive a coupon code good for one free item of your choice from the Keen website. That’s right ladies and you 3 gentlemen. The winner gets to pick any one thing you want. Squeee! I’m so excited.
Here’s the bonus. If you post about the contest on your own site with a link back to this page, then come back here leaving a second comment with a link to your post, you’ll be entered twice.
But wait. There’s more. When the contest ends, I have a coupon code for everyone else to get free shipping on anything you order from the site.
So everyone wins. And the peasants rejoice. Now go. Window shop. Come back and report your findings.
I have decided that I cannot live without the Wear Around MJ in Port Royale.
Oooooh, I have been coveting the Trailhead sandals for a couple of seasons now (I will have them, yes, yes someday!) but you made me look at the bags.
And I have fallen in love, I am daydreaming about the Alameda computer bag (black) because I have convinced myself that it will be the perfect mommy/toddler bag. The rugged construction, the inspired and many organized pockets. Sigh, if only I had not seen another bag first, but the hubby will never let me replace an ok bag.
So throw my name in and I’ll cross my fingers, hope and daydream some more, that one day my love and I will meet and never part.
I’m back and your linked! Wahoo two entries. I can’t wait!
The “Market Street” ones are just what my brother has been looking for. They are stylish and will keep him dry and warm in the New England weather.
Ahhhh I love the laptop bags!
I love the PALERMO BOOTS! I desperately need a pair for my upcoming trip but haven’t been able to justify the expense on top of the travel… this could be my big chance!
Oh my – I love the Palermo MJ – can’t decide between black of coffee bean. They are too yummy.
Thanks for introducing me to an super-cool company. Am currently adjusting gift giving ideas!
Now, I don’t think my life will be complete without a pair of Venture Suede shoes. 😉
I see my chances are diminishing exponentially. Well, I did post a lovely and emotional entry
on my own spectacular blog. You’re welcome.
I cannot live without a messenger bag big enough to fit my planner, Franklin Covey wallet, and all other necessary purse items. I’ve been searching for months. IKEA is the closest I can find to something that would work, but still not in a decent color…I’m hoping the OSWEGO would work…
You are know featured on my blog too! Crossing my fingers.
I love so much that I’m having trouble narrowing it down BUT right now I’m totally crushing on the Palermo Mary Janes. LOVE THEM!
Hey Katie,
Cute shoes, I am ashamed to admit but I am in category #3, I have never heard of these shoes before, maybe because I haven’t bought new shoes in over 5 years…just flip flops, but now that it is my second winter in Utah, i’m venturing out and looking for some close toed shoes. This are very stylish, my favorite two would have to be the Presidio’s and the Winthrop boots. Anyhow, glad to see you are doing well.
Just moved to Wisconsin to start a PhD program and NO BOOTS.
Come on, Karma, I need those orange and grey Winterport boots, # 5221.
Because the sneakers that I wear because they have good traction? Are made to let hot air OUT, which means they also let cold air IN. Eep!
Put me in twice – here’s my post –

I’m liking the Calistoga’s. I may even be daring enough to get them in blue! ;o)
I love the Wear Around MJs!
I love the Oswego bag in the port/orange color. It would be a bright spot in all of my dull colored winter wear, and it looks like it could last. Most of my purses tend to die after 5 or 6 months. I tend to carry at least one book (sometimes two- cause what would I do if I finished the first one?) and various products to beautify me (most of which I never use or thought I’d lost.) So that is the product I would choose from the website. Thanks!
I love Keens! They are so great, I feel like a cool Seattlite when I wear the ones I have! I really need the Mary janes, gotta have them to fit in with all the cool moms on the block!
I love the Winthop clog!
So… yeah. I pretty much need everything on that site now.
But I love the Palermo MJs.
And I think I kind of need to have the Morrison bag.
And either an Oswego or a Brooklyn. Or both.
(pick me! pick me! pick me!)
Hmmm….There are a lot of really cute Mary Janes there, but I think I am leaning towards the Winthrop boot in black.
And please pick me again because I link-ed!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Please pick me!!!!
I love the coffee liquor Sienna MJ’s (Say that five times fast – while you have a screaming baby in the other room!
Oh, I LOVE the Sienna Ballerina Shoes in tan. GORGEOUS.
OOhhh, thats a tough decision. But the Palermo Mary Janes, look quite comfy.
These shoes look awesome:

Wow, what a great give away. I looked at the women’s shoes and completely love the Palmero MJ’s. But if I won this I would have to get the Youth Tallinn boots for my munchkin. She is in need of boots for the winter and I always put her needs before mine. Good luck to all!
I think I would have to pick the wear around MJ. I have been looking for something other then sandels to wear since the weather is getting colder. I just cant stand tennis shoes all the time.
I love the Sienna Ballerina. Awesome!
Must have the Calistoga Mary Janes. I bought my son a pair of Keens this summer and they held up so well through all of his shenanigans. Even if I don’t win, I need a pair of my own.
I’m entering for my beloved friend, if I win these, it’s the best present I could ever give her. 🙂 Please pick me. 🙂
What a great company!! I love their style too. I had a hard time choosing but I finally decided on BLVD “ventura suede” in the pine cone color.
I loved the Winthrop Slip On
haha I’m not entering the giveaway, but i believe that the three kind of people in this world are:
1. people who can count
2. people who can’t
Oh man.. it’s a tie between green Jasper shoes and the black Betty bag.
Okay, well… after getting lost on the KEEN website, I think possibly, maybe my fav is the OSWEGO bag in Port Royal. However, I am quite sure that if I visit that site everyday for the next seven days I will decide on a new favorite on each and every day. They have some awesome stuff!
I am not a shoe person ( I KNOW!) but just a few days ago I complimented a friend on her Keen Berkeleys. She’s really cool, so if I can have shoes like her I know I, too, will be cool.
Palermo MJs please. I’d be happy with either color too! 🙂
Calistogas in Orion Blue- I LOVE these! Thanks for sharing these great products!
Okay, this is my first time commenting on your blog but I emailed you a few weeks ago! Pick me. I love the Winthrop Boot…if that is how you spell it. I really like the black ones!
I love your blog!
After my surgery I plan on getting back into hiking the beautfiul mountains and would love to have the TARGHEE II MID. They are just awesome!! Thanks for the chance to win.
the wear-around MJs were, quite simply, made for me.
The Wear Around MJs are pretty stinkin’ cute!
Newport, Laguna, Venice…doesn’t matter. I wish thye still had the orange ones! I’d live in those shoes!
I love the Wear Around MJ pair that you have pictured, and I also love the Sienna MJs. So cute! For a second entry, my post is here.
I’ve put this second entry in for Seven to make the drawing easier.

I looove the Saratoga IIs. 🙂
Oh my goodness. I’ve never heard of these shoes until now, and they are so, so pretty. I like the Venice H2 to match our new-to-us canoe. The Winthrop boots are stunning, and the Calistoga and the Palermo are just fun.
Can I say how much I really love ALL the shoes? Especially since I’ve been wearing the same “leather mocs” for 7 years now?? Seriously. I need help.
count me in, woman!
