I’ve come to realize that there are 3 kinds of people in this world, those who wear and love Keens, those who covet Keens in a way that Moses would greatly disapprove of, and those who’ve never heard of them.
So for those of you in category 3, here’s a rundown of why I love Keen to encourage you to join categories 1 or 2. If you still need convincing after reading this, visit their new website and I’m sure you’ll be hooked.
1. They’re environmentally and socially responsible. Much of their products are made from reused or recycled material. They use environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, give back to the community, and are working through a Fair Labor certification process. There are so many companies who have jumped on this bandwagon half-heartedly but I get the impression that Keen really means to make a difference in the industry and the world. Their company was founded on these principles 5 years ago and they keep taking their commitment to the next level.
2. They’re based in the Northwest so we’re neighbors and likely soon to be BFFs.
3. Their design is smart and their shoes are well-made, rugged and durable.
4. Handbags. You just have to look. Trust me.
5. Everything they make is gorgeous.
Now you’re asking yourself, “Why is Kathryn giving me a big fat advertisement for Keen?” Firstly because I like em so darn much and secondly because they want to give one of you a Christmas present. An awesome Christmas present, a present of which I am totally jealous in a hypocritical I-enabled-this-so-why-am-I-freaking-out-with-envy sort of way.
Head over to the site and look through everything. May I suggest the Ridgelines, Betty Boots, Palermo Boots or Palermo MJs?
How about a pair of classic Newports or Wear Around MJs?
And let’s face it. If it were me, I’d spend a good long time checking out their laptop bags and handbags. I’ve particularly got my eye on the Oswego and the Betty bag. The day packs are also delicious but I’d feel like I’d end up sharing them with my family and honestly, who wants that?
So yes. Go to the site. Pick out something you can’t live without and come back here and tell me what it is in the comments section of this post. Next Sunday night I will choose one random winner to rule them all who will receive a coupon code good for one free item of your choice from the Keen website. That’s right ladies and you 3 gentlemen. The winner gets to pick any one thing you want. Squeee! I’m so excited.
Here’s the bonus. If you post about the contest on your own site with a link back to this page, then come back here leaving a second comment with a link to your post, you’ll be entered twice.
But wait. There’s more. When the contest ends, I have a coupon code for everyone else to get free shipping on anything you order from the site.
So everyone wins. And the peasants rejoice. Now go. Window shop. Come back and report your findings.
oh how to choose….shoes i can wear to work? the palermo mj in black. shoes i can wear everywhere else? the ventura suede in black.
i never win anything so i’m really keeping my fingers crossed for this one!
And because I like the odds, here’s the link to the plug I gave ya on my site:

I absolutely love the Irvington bag! It even has an LED light inside. Thanks for the introduction…I love the look and that the products are made with recycled materials!
Easy! the Keen Betty Bag – it’s already on my christmas list!
I love the Barcelona Mary Janes. They are fantastic.
My parents have bought a pair of Keens for all the boys in my family over the last few years. Seems they think the girls just don’t have a clue how great Keen is and what they’re missing.
I KNOW what I’m missing. Love the giveaway idea. Thanks for sharing!!
Never heard of the company, but their products look really nice. I like the Napa Boot-the flowers on it are really cute 🙂
I have been coveting the Sydney IIs for a LONG TIME now. I wander through REI every once in a while to catch a glimpse of them! Thanks for the contest!
I have added it to our site along with the deal I have been getting on http://www.thegrocerygame.com. My site is http://www.wheresdaddy.net

Oh. My. Word. I love my keens. I want to own more. All of them. But my husband gives me that look anytime I even mention the brand. This will show him. That Mary Jane you featured will DEFINITELY be my next pick. Love it.
Oh wow! Just one…but how can I? I love the Charleston clogs or lace, but those mj’s are so cute too! Thanks for the opportunity!
Love the Black Olive Ridgeline trailhead shoes!
Can I just say that I reaaaaaaaallllllly want some Keens?
They are so cute! I love the MJ’s. And the bags too!
I would choose the Palerma MJ or the Sienna MJ. And I think I am going to win. Please!
I love the Sienna Ballerina!
Great giveaway! I would select the Vaoyageur boots (perfect for upcoming campouts–I’m a Scoutmaster), the jasper for comfort, or the Palerma MJ for my wife 🙂 Thanks.
would love the Amsterdam MJs for my daughter. and might have to get a matching pair for myself!
Squeee indeed! I think my favorite is actually the Winthrop boot in Cordovan. Some of the little kiddie shoes are charming too, but tragically cost way more than I’m willing to spend on something my little banana-biter will wear for less than six months. I guess if I win, I’ll have a real dilemma on my hands.
Palermo MJ in coffee for SURE.
My son wears only keens in the summer and I have a pair for warmer hiking months as well. I never really thought of them as an all-weather brand! You have opened my eyes, and probably my pocketbook!
hmmm, I really like the Wear around MJ or the Palermo MJ. But really, I think i would end up getting something for my hubby.
I knew what I wanted right away!
The Chamonix boot in pinecone, baby!
I have wanted brown boots forever. For some reason, I am doomed to never finding the perfect pair, but I can just feel that this time it’s going to be right! And FREE!!
(please, randomizer, pick me! pick me!)
🙂
Thanks, Kathryn and Keen!
-Stacy
I like the palermo mary jane.
Hey K!
The Wear Around MJ’s please.
So much cooler than the tennis shoes my daughter rolls her eyes at. 😉
I found your site through FawnDear’s…I’m sooo loving this. I like the Winthrop Clog! I’m loving clogs these days! Thanks for doing this. You’re awesome.
I would love the Oswego Messenger bag or the Trailhead Vail boots…… Awesome contest!
Oh, I’m loving the boots! Maybe the Betty? Maybe the Summit? Love them!
Ooooohhhh. I want those Vail boots! I need something to keep me warm in Chicago this winter.
Pingback: Cool… I mean warm
Okay… I linked to ya! It’s on here: http://fourinarow.net/cool-i-mean-warm/
Wow, I love them all! But I really like the San Antonio slip-ons for men. My husband is an elementary school teacher and is always looking for comfortable shoes that are professional looking. These look perfect! Great contest!
I can’t decide between the brooklyn bag for me or the amsterdam shoes for either of my girls. Or maybe the blue genoa peak WP. There are so many good choices!
First off, don’t punish me simply because I don’t have a blog….I know, I can only be entered once because I’m not blog-proficient yet 🙁
However I must tell you how Keen’s saved my life. I have an 11 year old daughter that apparently has some sensory issues when it comes to her feet. For one year she would only wear these certain shoes I could only find at Payless simply because she could wiggle her toes in them. Then, once school is out and summer hits, it is only flip-flops, that’s it! Well, then come this summer when Grandma and Grandpa are taking her to Disneyland. Grandma politely tells me that should won’t take a grandaughter to Disneyland wearing flip flops every day…oh, and the Payless shoes are not being made any more. What is a Mom to do? Welcome Keens. I must admit, I was not to ‘keen’ on the price after shopping at Payless for this girl for several years. However, after Grandma convinced me, I caved and spent more money for my 11 year old daughter on a pair of shoes than I think I have ever spent on a pair of shoes for myself. As you can suspect, by the end of the summer, I was telling everyone that that was the BEST $100 I’ve ever spent! Thank you Keens! Of course now she needs a pair she can also wear in the winter which is why you must choose me for this offer!
Love the Chamonix! Shoes in the winter are so hard for me, but I love Keens!
Jennifer
Holy crap..the Winthrop boot is TO DIE FOR. I picture myself wearing it with jeans, with slacks and OF COURSE, with a cute skirt.
The wear around MJ’s look really cute and comfortable. My poor feet could use some comfort. Thanks for doing this.
wow, I LOVE the wear around MJs. So cute, so comfy looking! What color would I choose…blue or black? Hard to say…
OK: mother of 5 boys chiming in here! I don’t usually use that as a maneuver for sympathy, but here it only makes sense. These feet deserve their first Keens -they have active kiddos to run after. I’d totally pick the Berkeley or Palermo Mary Janes. Cute. Classy. Versatile. And easy to slip on as I run out the door!
I’ve heard of them, but have never seen them either in stores or on someone else, so I’d love to try out these “wonder shoes!” I really liked the Winthrop boot – it looks warm and great for rainy/snowy weather.
Seriously? This is too cool. I’d get the Betty bag for my sister. It’s so cute!
Oh, I’m drooling over the Winterport shoes. Stone grey and mulled grape, please.
Pretty.
I love the Winthrop boot! Cute, but also warm and functional!
I am liking the Sienna Mary Jane. I also like that they have sizes to fit my huge feet!
I love the Shay boots in black. They look so cozy and wonderful!
Boo yah! Linked you!
snairfamily.blogspot.com
pick me! pick me! pick me! I’m digging that Betty bag but really need the Shay boots for dog walking.
Wow, I didn’t realize Keen had so many styles now. I love the winthrops and the palermos. I have perpetually cold feet so the thought of my little feeties encased in those warm boots sounds heavenly!
Um, what *don’t* I love on their site? I think the final tossup is between the Palermo and the Ventura. Yum.

It looks like I have a crush on the Calistoga little mary jane looking shoes. And the Winthrop boots are awesome. I wouldn’t know what to do with the rest of myself if my feet looked that cool!
And now that I have torn myself away from the Keen website, I need to figure out what to do with the cinnamon scented pinecones I bought at Joanne’s on a whim – I think they are burning my nostrils…
Yay shoes!
Ohhh I choose one of those Irvington bags, what a hip diaper bag it would make!
