The Daniel, he is a mastermind. Sometimes his genius frightens me. I design my blog. I rejoice. I change the wrong semicolon in the code. I weep. Daniel whips out his little black box (he calls it a “command” “prompt”) and VOILA! A new home for Daring Young Mom.
He has spent hours and hours of work and I have spent hours and hours of play making this all possible. I know there are still weird bugs and things that have to be tweaked.
Please let me know if you have problems with anything on the site. I am mostly responsible for the code and I know nothing about code. He has spent scads of time cleaning up my messes and he’d love more to clean up, so give him a challenge. I dare you.
Is it slow to load? (Please don’t respond to this if you’re still using your grandma’s 386 with 16MB of memory. I love you but cannot accommodate you on this site. Let me know and I’ll send you a plain text email of my posts.)Â
Do things go wonky in your weird-open-source-Macish-save-the-world-from-software-monopolies browser? (I would like to try to accommodate you. Feel the love man and pass the tie-dyed onesies.)Â
Do you think my floating head is too pretentious now on its framed cushion of velveteen fabric?Â
How can I better serve you on this blog? Need a new shoe-lace or just a hug? Please, let me know your wants and needs and I will try to address them expeditiously.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!
I like your new site very much, DYM! The red velvet look is especially nice… very touchy-feely.
So, I get up and go to the computer, check my email, check my blog, consider that I’d like to do some redesigning, but then reconsider with this logic: well, it’s not bad to have a consistent look, it’s comforting on some level for people to be able to show up to the same “place” everyday. Take Kathryn. She hasn’t changed her blog. So I’m okay for now.” Then I click over to your site and Voila! Now I have to wait for my mastermind to get home, so that I (he) can make some changes.
It looks grand. It works on Mozilla. When the page first loads for me it all comes up red for a second and then switches to white.
I like your new page, I wish the entries were shorter and had an option to read more, so that I could scroll through a little more easily, but that’s just my preference. I like the circus graphic up top, and your floating head must stay.
LOVE the new look.
Especially your disembodied head floating on it’s red cushion.
Congrats on your new domain, new blog look and your big move. Fortunately, at least in my case, all you need to do is keep writing… no hugs or tie-dye onesies required (even though I am on a Mac).
I’m first! I’m first! I’m the first comment at your new digs! Woo-hoo…love them!
woohoo! first comment! love the new site. great job Dan I mean Kathryn
Dude, how am I here first?! I’m afraid I’m about to tell you there is something wrong with the comments feature because it just seems impossible that I would be the first with something to say.
I think it’s great that you have your own new site – inspiring. I’ve always wondered why you didn’t have your very own site name and design. Blogger is unworthy…I’m finding out Blogger is unworthy in general, actually.
I love the banner and the background – your new place looks great.
Never before has a velveteen head looked so luxurious. Love the site! Couldn’t resist being the first to comment. Congrats!
Love it! How fitting for you, with all the circusy goodness. Very nice. 🙂
Amy 🙂
Woo! It looks great. I love that red.
Ooh, I am the first!!! I love it, the circus tents are great! YOur floating face…hmmm…I would add a more busy background than just the velvet myself. Also love the little blue tickets, a cute little addition!! Would say more but the chitlens need some lovin’
Just like that? No fanfare, no fancy invitations with self-addressed-stamped rsvp, mailed 6 weeks before the grand event? You just change your url.
Lookin good. Congrats on going indie – let me know how it goes, cuz I’m thinking of doing the same thing.
The site looks great. The velveteen fabric is okay, although I would prefer something a bit more satinish.
As for my needs there are many physical and emotional that I’ll probably have to continue to address on my own.
I’m not first! Whoo-hooo! I’m NOT first! Yippee!
Love it, by the way…
Um, will there be free cotton candy?
Lovely new look, Miss Kathryn… Thanks for the comments! 🙂
Hey, it’s still a three ring circus… I like! I like! You are proving that you indeed are still a daring young mom. Can’t wait for the next act to start.
Yes, Heth. There will be free cotton candy for all.
The floating head on velveteen is lovely. And DYM looks brilliant in Safari.
I can feel the love, sister.
nothing like a head on a pillow!
The site looks great!
I have no idea about code but need to read up on it because I would like to move my site!
I love you.
I knew the euphoria couldn’t last long … surely I wasn’t the only one to stalk your every post …
Rock on with the new look girlie! I love it!
This is BEAUTIFUL. Way better. It’s so happy! I really, really like it. Good job.
NICE. And isn’t it convenient to have a husband with a head full of brains? I know next to nothing about coding but Greg can whip it out faster than I can muster up tears. (and trust me, there are TEARS when it comes to creating ones website.)
It looks spectacufabuloso.
I lurve it too. And I can clearly see that I’m not the 1st commenter. 😉
Very nice — congrats! And so wonderful to have a husband who not only understands these things, but is able and willing to make miracles happen!
Can I request you not do the “read more” thing on every single entry? Sometimes I want to catch up on a few entries at one shot and I have to keep clicking back and forth from the full entry back to the home page and then to the next full entry.
Your regular readers will want to read your full entries anyway so putting “read more” just makes them have to click an extra link before they can get to where they wanna be. I personally find this rather frustrating. It is like when Yahoo tells me I have 3 new mails in my inbox — show me the inbox already, then! Sheesh! (Sorry, angst escaping. Not taking it out on you. Just tellin’, is all…)
